  1. I’m so sorry to hear about all the injuries and surgeries. I hope you and your daughter both heal up nicely.

The shot of Red in flight is great! The squirrel looks like he’s begging for treat, which is pretty cute, too.

    • Thank you for your kind words. I’m more worried about my daughter than myself!

I was so surprised to see that photo of Red in flight. I get many more where there is just a wing or a tail. The squirrel is such a character.

  2. Oh I hope your daughter’s surgery goes well and she recovers quickly. I’ve had so many surgeries but my point of view is that I’m grateful that I’m living in an era where these issues can be treated by surgery and we don’t have to tolerate the pain! I hope that you don’t need another surgery after this. Hugs

  3. Sorry that you have to deal with health issues EA, your daughters and now again your own. I absolutely love that you captured the quail in the tree and Red in flight 🙂

    • I’m getting a little tired of the surgery drama. I’ve been up to Berkeley to take care of my son two times for surgery in the last couple years. I told my husband yesterday that I’m going to plan a trip to visit them without any surgeries involved! I remember you took care of your daughter, too.

I’m glad you enjoyed the photos! I am enjoying taking a bunch of photos, viewing them on my laptop and getting some nice surprises!

  4. Oh, I’m sorry about the new surgery, Elizabeth! I hope your daughter’s surgery and recovery goes well.

The pictures are stunning. Love the one of Red ignoring the flamingo.

    • I was going to put off my surgery until the new year. After discussing it with my orthopedic surgeon, she is going to do a procedure that is much simpler than originally planned. So, I decided to move it up and get it over with!

Thanks for your comments on my photos. I’m having so much fun with my backyard buddies.

  5. Awesome that you caught Mr Red in flight! Enjoyed your other pics too. LOL at Mrs Red giving the side eye.

Hope your daughter’s surgery goes fine and that the healing process isn’t too painful. How nice that you can be with her to help her out.
So sorry that you have to get another surgery. Hope it goes well and a quick recovery. I totally understand you wanting this to be your last surgery! I hope it is! You have been through a lot lately!

  6. Good morning Elizabeth! Great photos…sorry to read about your daughter’s surgery and 3am wake ups let alone more surgery on the horizon for you…sending healing hugs your way for all…by the way, chipmunk is my fav…just such a cutie!

  7. Oh my goodness. I hate this for you; another surgery after going through all the pain and recovery for the first one. So sorry.
Athletes, like your daughter do pay a price for all that wear and tear. I hope her surgery goes well and she recovers swiftly. She’s lucky to have you there, nursing her to better health.
Lolo played competitive softball from five to nineteen; she has injured labrums in her shoulder and hip, which will stay with her for her entire life. 🙁

All the photos are lovely, but that little Harris Antelope Squirrel is ADORABLE.

    • Thanks! Yes, it was my daughter’s swimming from age five through college that ruined her shoulder. She doesn’t think sprinters suffer as much as distance swimmers.

My first night at my son’s (my daughter is staying there so my son and DIL can watch her at night) my son ended up in ER at midnight with a hernia that now needs surgery. That’s number three in a number of weeks! We’re waiting to hear when is will be scheduled. Maybe I should just move in!

That little squirrel is a character! Glad you liked the photos.

Sorry to hear about your daughter’s softball injuries too!
