With a break from rainy days, I took my camera across the street to the nature’s preserve to get some photos. I marveled at how green it is in the desert.

The Octotillo look very happy.

Then I slowly walked around our yard to observe the beauty. This bee was busy with a fairy duster plant in our front yard.

The Pyracantha white blossoms have disappeared and been replaced with fruit.

A cactus in bloom.

The Honeysuckle is blooming, too.

The Fire Stick plant is huge and topped with new growth.

Even the Aloe seems healthier with all our rainy days.

One last look at the greenery in the desert.
Happy Friday! What are your weekend plans?

Wow!! Amazing photos…you have an eye for detail and color along with Mother Nature’s help! Thanks for sharing!
I’m so glad you enjoyed my photos. There is so much new growth in our area thanks to three weeks with some rainy days.
Wow, such beautiful views in your area, Elizabeth!! That Fire Stick is so cool, we don’t have those up here. The Aloe does look very green and healthy too. I’ve no plans as usual other than let the day unfold as it does. 😎
Thank you! I have never seen new growth on the Fire Stick like that. It’s due to all the rain. We have more rain in the forecast, too.
It’s all quite beautiful, but also time for me to get busy with my hula hoe.
I think you’re right. All this new plant growth due to rain will become a fire hazard.
Beautiful EA! We got our first light frost this morning then back to sun and the 70’s for a week. Crazy weather! I’m getting my car serviced today and the youngest grand has birthday celebrations all weekend so I might be hiding downstairs a lot 🙂
Thanks! How strange to get frost and then 70 degree weather. Happy birthday to your granchild.
We have fire stick and lots of aloe in Florida. Do you get a lot of tourists in your area because of the preserve? I think we will wing it the weekend. Busy but good week! Do you and your husband have plans?
We don’t get many people in our area because we are above the preserve. The main entrance is on the other end of it. That’s where the parking lot is and visitor’s center. We don’t have any parking for it but can walk to the trails. There’s more than 130 miles of hiking trails and it’s 30,500 acres.
That is a lot of acres for someone to patrol.
They have a bunch of volunteers and some on bikes.
They must be in great shape!
They are mostly older people, but yes, they are in great shape hiking and biking every day. When we go for a hike we’ll see someone riding a bike making sure everyone is okay. And we’re on the far side of the preserve.
Beautiful! Everything really does look so much more vibrant after the rain.
It’s amazing how green everything is. Unfortunately all this growth will be a fire hazard in the spring and summer.
How lovely.
With all that color hardly a desert at all..
It sure doesn’t look like our desert in Palm Springs. It’s so much prettier with all the green.
Wow – everything does look so green. I love the bee on the fairy duster. Great photos, Elizabeth!
It’s amazing what rain can do to the desert. I was so excited to get the bee shot. I’m glad you enjoyed my photos.
So beautiful after the rain! And your photos are wonderful!
Thank you so much! The plants love all the rain.
The change in the environment that rain brings is quite amazing. Deserts are fantastic after rain for that short window of green and growth
It is beautiful right now. We’re supposed to get more rain next week, too. But in the summer it could be a fire hazard.
Lovely photos! You live in a beautiful area!
My mom always had an aloe plant around. It was the miracle cure plant at our house. 😊
Thank you! It really is pretty out here. It’s the same desert as in Palm Springs, but so different looking.
It’s not looking that way in Scottsdale right now! Your pictures are very eye-catching.
Thank you! We have another rain storm with dark clouds. Not a bright sunny day right now.
Wow….all of these are spectacular! I especially love the cactus in bloom. Gorgeous, gorgeous! 😊💝😊
Thank you! I enjoyed trying something different, although I did get some birds that I’m happy with. I’ll use them tomorrow!
Yay!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
🥰
Nice, healthy plants
They love all the rain we’re getting. More rain coming this week.
A treat for the desert plants
So much so. We have flash flood warnings for tomorrow.
Oh my! Stay safe dear friend.
I decided to stay in today!
Good idea.

Nothing more lovely than the green in the desert.
We keep getting ore rain. It’s so beautiful right now.
