Here’s the syllabus for January:

What have you read on January’s Reading List?

Is there anything on the list you’ve wanted to read but never have?

  1. Glad to hear the surgery went well and you are up and living life. Very appropriate that a first activity was a walk- Yay! I noticed The Yellow Wallpaper on the reading list. One of my all time favorites 🙂

    • Thank you for all the encouraging words. It feels good to be up walking and having an easy recovery. I’m excited to get feedback from you and LA about Dorian Gray and now The Yellow Wallpaper. I have something to look forward to during my quiet days at home for the next few weeks.

  2. Dorian is one of my top ten novels!!! Omg I’m so excited for you if you’ve never read. I also used to be a Rosetti fan, though I most remember her youthful poem that began round and furry caterpillar in a hurry…

  3. I’m so glad your surgery went well and that Red and the Misses are stopping by to keep you company in your recovery. 😉

  4. Yay for Bird Buddy! Such a great photo! So cute. We all must deal with the unpleasant side of things don’t we but we just do it and be done with it. I’m glad that you are able to walk again, Elizabeth! I hope the bug doesn’t bite you guys again this winter.

    • Thank you!, John. I’m thankful to have unpleasant things behind me. Also, for continuing good health! The biggest plus is to have Red come back to the Bird Buddy and to stop by each day.

  5. Yeats for the win. “And bending down beside the glowing bars, Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead, And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.” Love how Yeats cuts to the chase about aging and the pain of unrequited affection.

  6. I read The Picture of Dorian Grey a very long time ago, but I loved it.

Glad the recovery from foot surgery is going well. Sounds like you’ve had a bit of a rough couple months! Hang in there.

    • Thank you! Yes, the only break I had was our Christmas vacation. Then right back into the thick of things. I’m thankful my surgery went well and I should be out of my boot in two weeks.

  7. I’m so glad to hear you are up and around already, Elizabeth. I feel like I read The Picture of Dorian Gray but I’m not 100% certain. What a great syllabus!

    Hope you are healing well!

  8. I don’t recall reading any of these on the new list; of course, maybe I did in HS, but I just don’t recall much from those days.
Red is always showing off his vibrant self.
I’m SO happy your surgery was a success and that part is behind you now…on to the healing part!

    • I don’t remember reading anything on this list either! But I’ll start today. I wish Red would spend more time in the backyard, but at least he’s here. Yes, it’s a relief to have surgery behind me.
