There’s no place like home!

What’s happening with your winter weather?

If you have a favorite photo, which one is it?

  1. There’s always that bit of guilt when you’re away and you think about the wildlife not getting their “extra” food 😉 We are waiting anxiously for the smallest chance of some snow along the metro corridor. The high country is finally getting snow- the peaks look amazing when we walk in the morning- but very low chance of any snow down here still for some time. They are saying much colder next week but if there’s no storms rolling in…no snow sadly.

  2. My husband says the same thing when I worry about running out of seed and suet. “They survived without you just fine.” 😉
Love the shot of the quail seeking rain shelter. So sweet.

    • It’s hard to remember that these birds survived without us! There was a whole group of quail under the bench, but by the time I got my camera out and focused there was the one left.

  3. I just love the photo of Red peeking from behind the cactus! The birds sure did miss you… or their gourmet meals. 😉

  4. Great to see them all 👍 we’ve been away for a couple of days and the feeders were bare when came back this afternoon, the birds dropped on them instantly, it’s been snowing now and tonight there’s a real blow out there, I’ll need to make sure we’re all stocked up 👍

    • I enjoy the backyard birds so much. I’m so happy to be back home feeding them. I can imagine how the birds enjoyed your full feeders. I have a couple dozen quail devouring the birdseed. I’m glad we don’t have snow. We had two snow days the first year we moved here. I thought it was going to be every year, but never since then. We do have six straight days of rain which is unusual.

  5. I am sure Mr and Mrs Red were chattering to each other about how glad they were to have you back. 😉
I like the fluffy quail photo the best. But always like photos of Mr Red too!

  6. I can never choose a favorite photo — they’re all lovely captures. Glad you are home, safe and sound. Maybe the birds will write you a thank-you letter for feeding them, again? 😃
