Here are a few of the best photos I got of Red this week, plus two of Mrs. I’m going to miss my backyard birds, especially my cardinal couple and quail. I have hired my former cat sitter to watch over the house and most importantly feed the birds! Hopefully, Red and Mrs. won’t abandon me while we travel.
Here are my favorite photos of the week:

Red perching on our beavertail cactus art.

Mrs. enjoying some bird seed.

Red on the fence. I liked how the morning light was shining through his crest.

I don’t get that many photos of Red with a front on angle.

I liked the sharp focus on this one.

Mrs. enjoys the beavertail cactus statue, too.
Do you have a favorite photo this week?
What are your exciting plans for the weekend?

I hope you have a great vacation. Break a leg!
(Whoops, poor choice of words.)
Ha! 😅
Have a great vacation! Great photos, too! I have a cardinal couple in the yard this year, and it’s incredible how vibrant they are, but they’re all too fast for my phone camera haha.
The cardinals move fast! I decided to leave my camera and lenses at home. I start a photography workshop when we get back and I don’t want to worry about sand etc. I’ll be using my phone camera!
The photography workshop sounds like so much fun! And you’ve got some great subjects to practice on.
I’m excited for it, but nervous too!
so beautiful they are 🙂
Thanks!
Lovely photos, Cardinals are so pretty! Have a safe holiday. 😊👍🏻
Thank you! It better be safe. The last two wore me out!
Really beautiful!
Thanks so much!
I hope that they are waiting keenly for your return.
Thank you! I do too!

Love how you converted your cat sitter to a bird sitter! Beautiful photos. Enjoy your trip, Elizabeth!
She took care of Olive but also watered our indoor plants. She had no problem adding bird feeding to her chores 😊
The Cardinals love safflower seeds and a good birdbath. As long as there is an abundance of seed in the feeder and a source of clean water. They will usually stick around. Have fun on your trip!
Thanks! Yes, it’s been so hot I have to put fresh water in the bird bath twice a day. Plus they have plenty of birdseed.
I think the front angle Red is my favorite of all the ones you’ve taken of him. So close. So vivid. And I love his puffed up crown. Ha, ha.
Thanks! I never get tired of taking photos of him. 😊
Ohhh. Yes! That morning light coming through. A cool incandescence? Love it! 🥰
Thanks! I love catching the morning light.
Gorgeous! 🥰
💕
Lovely photos of Mr and Ms Red. I want to see more of the beavertail cactus art too.
Enjoy the sun, sand and water Elizabeth
Thank you! Yes I do have photos of the entire beavertail cactus art. It looks like it’s made from horseshoes. I’m looking forward to the sun, sand and water!
Hope your trip is going well. I like the one on the railing with the blurred greenery in the background. I’ll be doing a native plant walk tomorrow morning. Maybe get some writing and research done.
So far the trip is good. We’re breaking up the nine-hour drive into two days. I was happy to capture the morning light in that photo. Your weekend sounds ideal!
very nice 👍
Thanks so much!
Front angle of red!! Went to beach yesterday and about to have brunch with my Australian friend!!
I like that photo too as one of my favorites! We had dinner with our Aussie friends last night. Now we’re headed for a beach walk with them.
You are so ridiculously talented and now I’m worried that your little red bird friends will miss you while you’re gone! Enjoy your vacation! Hugs, C
Thank you! I hope they don’t give up on me and move to the neighbor’s yard. I hired our former cat sitter to feed them, so maybe they’ll stay.
