I don’t know why I should be surprised.
We had trees trimmed Saturday by our gardeners who do monthly maintenance. They charged us a fortune — and not a small one. We had a friend’s daughter and boyfriend over Saturday afternoon, and then there was a downpour. We didn’t notice what the gardeners did with the debris.
Instead of hauling it off, they stashed it around our fence! All around our back yard, they put branches between our yard and the neighbors.

It’s not like they let some branches fall and not pick them up. They had to haul them out the gate and place them outside our yard.
Did they think we wouldn’t notice?
Perhaps there’s a new city regulation that natural fencing and wildlife habitat must be preserved from yard maintenance work? Okay, I figure that is pretty ridiculous but really- to just haul limbs to the fence and dump them. I hope you have them back one last time to haul all the residue away and then hire a new crew for the future!
They are coming this morning. My husband told them he’d report them to the HOA if they didn’t haul it away.
Oh for goodness sake!
Right?
We are surrounded by oaks, and pay a small fortune to have them kept trimmed. They will not come out for LESS than $600, no matter how small the trim. We have learned not to fork over a single dime until we have WATCHED them load the debris, rake and clean the area, and leaving the yard completely free of any indication they have been there. We will not hire anyone that does not include this as part of the service. Many of them actually bring a chipper, and ask if you would like the mulch. If no, they haul that as well.
We did look at our yard and it was clean, except for the top photo. Because of the rainstorm we didn’t look outside the fence. I’m waiting to see if they do show up today to clean up the mess.
Well, if it’s the first time they’ve done this, time to find out why. Maybe the rain, they didn’t want o take the debris and go to another place with it in the rain? THAT is not done w/out explanation. Maddening, of course! I’m sure you sent pictures to owner asking WHAT happened!
It’s the first time we’ve had the trees trimmed. It might have been because of the storm. But they could have told us they were coming back!
I am guessing they weren’t until you pointed out the issue.
That’s a safe bet. My husband told them he’d report them to the HOA and get them banned from the neighborhood if they didn’t clean it up.
Do the minimum and see who complains, then call those people racists. The new work motto of the 21st century.
Yep!
That’s crazy
It is!
Perhaps they thought that they had camouflaged it.
That’s what I think they were doing. Can you imagine what it would look like once the green leaves turn brown?
An eyesore.
Oh my goodness! I live in Arizona and our guys have never done that.
I found you through Exploring Newness.
Hello Fellow Arizonan!
The gardeners came back two days in a row to clean up. Thank goodness! Thanks for letting me know where you found my blog 🙂
Wow! Crazy!
