I ordered a canvas print of Red to fill in the space to the right of our fireplace. A neighbor who is an artist and an expert at hanging paintings helped me with it. There used to be a Remington statue on this cabinet. But she moved it to the other side of the fireplace and placed this plant under Red. i’m excited with how it looks!

I was so excited with the canvas print I ordered of Red that I ordered one of the sea glass photo above. I’m not sure where it will go. Maybe in the casita. I’m having fun creating art with my photography. It’s a new way for me to enjoy it!

Finally, I ordered a third print of a pen and ink drawing of mine. This is the house I lived in from second grade until I went off to college. While I was in college my mom had to sell our home after divorcing dad. She couldn’t afford the upkeep, electric and gas. It was sad to lose our beautiful home, but she ended up leaving Snohomish and moving to Olympia. She married someone she knew from her high school days who lived there.
Finally, I’ll leave you with a Bird Buddy video of the star of my show, Red. There’s a smudge on the lens that you may notice. I’m thinking that mean old thrasher did that! But it was easily cleaned.
What’s on your agenda for this week?

That’s a lovely pen and ink. And a wonderful memory of childhood…
Thank you. My dad was visiting us in Palm Springs and I received a box of photos from my brother after our mom passed away. The pen and ink drawing was in that box and my dad grabbed it and hung it in his house. I was not happy. I told him he was only borrowing it. Anyway, in December he agreed to move into assisted living, I was in charge of going through his entire house and getting him moved. I took the drawing back. I scanned it and improved it in Adobe. I think it will look good on canvas. I could make one for him too and mail it…
Love that you’re adding your photos and artwork to your home EA! Red looks especially nice in his new place of honor 🙂
I was surprised the Red photo turned out so well. I knew that blowing it up so large would make it fuzzy so I picked one of the sharpest photos of Red I had. I had two prints framed of a quail and Red when I took up photography last year. I’ve never hung them because I improved over the year. I may find a spot for them yet.
Beautiful photos, Elizabeth!! I like your pen and ink work to. It’s sad that you had to leave that home, it’s the kids that pay the highest price in a divorce. I know from experience. Have a wonderful week! 🙏🏻
Thank you. It is exciting for me to have these photos and my old pen and ink drawing to become artwork for our home. I have a painting of our backyard in Palm Springs where we lived for 28 years hanging in my office. I’m going to put my childhood home next to it. You’re correct about divorce hitting the kids the hardest. Even though I was in college, it hit me hard.
How special to have your own artwork hanging in your home. 😊
Thank you! I can’t wait for the next two canvases to arrive of the sea glass and my childhood home.
Oh yes! This photograph looks amazingly good here. It seems like a window with Red sitting outside. Love it Elizabeth. Now you can start contributing to these apps like Unsplash etc. your very good.
I’m so glad you like it. I’ve had a blank wall there for five years except for the statue sitting on the cabinet. I found paintings I kind of liked, but nothing that I wanted to spend the money on that they were asking. I’ve never heard of Unsplash. I’ll look into it.
It’s a perfect fit here. Unsplash and Pexels are sites where you can contribute your images. I think they also pay you for it but not sure.
Unsplash is free for people to download photos, but it’s nice exposure. I signed up for it today. You can say you’re available for hire. I’ll take a look at Pexels.
Yes, it is free but there is another option in Unsplash where we pay for the subscription.
Thanks for the information. I appreciate it!
You’re most welcome. You have great talent dear friend
Thank you so much!

oooooh! ooooooh! ooooooh! Love all of this…Red looks so regal and your canvas of the sea glass will be a stunner, but I’ve gotta say…your drawing of your childhood home is gorgeous! I’m a fan of pen and ink artwork…and my gosh. You are super-duper talented, Elizabeth! ❤️😘❤️
Wow. Thank you for all the glowing words! I drew my childhood house when I was in college. I was taking art classes for fun at the University of Washington. I’m looking for the perfect place for the sea glass. I’m excited to see it in person. It will be 18 x 24 inches. What’s fun about the canvas prints is if I get tired of something, I can create something new!
I hear you! We framed some family photos for Delaney in canvas and we were stunned at how well they turned out (family farm and an old ice cream shop). Also…love the plant under red…looks perfect! And your drawing is really and truly stunning. Yay, you! ❤️😊❤️
Thank you, Vicki! I’m excited that I thought of canvas prints. I notice my artwork that is framed with glass has reflections and they are harder to see. How fun to have canvas family photos for your daughter. It was fun to have my neighbor come over and make adjustments to our living room. She was there to help me hang the Red photo. But she rearranged other things including throw pillows, a saguaro throw that my DIL gave me plus hung another piece of artwork. She helped me order lights to put over paintings that don’t get enough light. She has good taste.
It’s so much fun to have a friend who will help you “shop your own house” by moving things around, freshening up. Love it! ❤️😘❤️
I loved the expert help! 💕
Haha! Creativity in action! 🤪❤️🤪
💕🥰💕
You have to hang the Red Frame up in a window so the real Red can see it. Something tells me he would start attacking the window, trying to eliminate “the competition.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That’s funny! Yes, he might try to chase the Red in the photo away!
It looks awesome. That was a great photo of Red.
Thank you. I had to look for one of the sharpest clear photos. I was afraid blowing it up that big was going to make it fuzzy. But it looks pretty good. I also like it with my wild painted cabinet because the colors are the same.
You’re welcome. The setup and combination are perfect.
Thanks to my artistic neighbor. She moved everything around and came up with this set up.
Nice!

How cool to be hanging your own incredible creations! Thank you for sharing your wonderful creations and creatures with us!
Thank you! It is giving me satisfaction to see Red hanging in our living room!
It’s so satisfying to fill your home with your own art, especially because it’s so meaningful to you, like the house drawing. The closest thing I ever knew to a family home was my grandmother’s house. It was sold after she died. It’s been restored/remodeled and looks lovely—I wish I could see the inside!
I’ll be busy with yard work and writing projects this week. A small chance for a plant field trip (I’m on the waiting list).
It is satisfying. I’ve looked for art, sunsets and saguaros mostly. I found a few things that would work but I didn’t love them. It’s different with my own work. They do have more meaning for me. It’s nice that your grandmother’s house is being taken care of. I feel bad because the home we lived in for 28 years in Palm Springs is an Air BNB and they gutted our 1937 Spanish Colonial and turned it into mid century modern, tearing out a wood beamed ceiling and terra cotta tiles throughout the house for white everything.
love the photos!!
Thanks! I hope you’re having fun with your daughter.
great so far!!

I absolutely love the print and the placement! Stunning. Hugs, C
I’m so glad you approve! I’m excited with the how well the Red canvas print turned out. Now I’m waiting for the sea glass one Friday! My neighbor rearranged our artwork, throw pillows and a few other things in our house. It was fun and she really improved things!
