March Reading List

I’m fortunate with March’s reading list. I’ve read “Pride and Prejudice,” “Hamlet” and “The Tempest.” Whew! As far as watching “Clueless” I can do that. I had no idea it was based on Jane Austen’s “Emma.”

What plans do you have for March?

What have you read on this month’s reading syllabus?

Did you know that Clueless was based on Jane Austin? Or am I the clueless one?

  1. Wow, you have great eyes! There’s zero way I could read that much, just processing photos and getting a post up is enough.

  2. It looks as if she has very focused high school English students. Lots of details! Is it a higher level class? Mike is coming home from the hospital today. What he went for, is now okay because of blood transfusions but they wanted to keep him an additional 3 days for more tests. He made a joke of it and mentioned going in for something and now they are redoing him, like a recipe or something. He has good lines but I will be happy to pick him up, shortly. It has been a busy week for me at home taking care of everything.

    • Congrats to you and your husband for him being able to come home today! That’s great news.

Yes the class is AP (advanced placement) for seniors. It’s also a private school where the kids are smart, but have trouble in school. It looks like they will be challenged this year!

      • That is wonderful! Teaching at a good private school sounds good! I wish her the best. Sounds like a very good position! Yes, we are home now. So happy.

      • Wonderful news! The school is working out now. It’s a whole other story when she had cancer and going through chemo and surgery.

  3. I had no idea about the Clueless connection. I’ve not read any of the reading syllabus books—yet.
You have been busy. I do enjoy the Merlin app; I used it in the past. The Cardinal is one that I can always recognize too.

  4. I read Pride and Prejudice last year, but I really didn’t connect with it. I wanted to read more classics, but after reading a few of them over the last couple of years, I think I’m going to leave those alone for now and read more contemporary fiction to keep myself motivated. I want to read more fiction, and the classics are killing my reading spirit.

    • I was totally clueless, too. Her students are getting a great education. Of course, our DIL was the oldest of seven and taught all of her younger siblings. They went to UC schools, Princeton, Wharton School of Business, Yale and Brown. She’s was quite the big sister!

  5. I saw the movie Emma and probably Clueless, too, but didn’t know of the connection between the two. I’ve read some Shakespeare, but not in a very long time. I tried reading Austen’s P&P, but it was not my cup of tea.

    • I haven’t read Shakespeare in a long, long time either. I enjoyed Pride and Prejudice mainly for the names of the characters! I married a Wickham and my first name is Elizabeth.
