I put a birdseed block across from the pool bar yesterday. I enjoyed sitting quietly in the second chair from the left to wait and see what happened. I like hanging out to shoot photos of critters because I’m at eye level with them. They don’t seem to notice me when their appetite gets the better of them.
Here are photos I took from the pool bar, bird blind:

A mourning dove was the first to bite.

Then came a solo quail.

Pretty soon, the quail had friends.

Another quail shared the block.

Squirrel!
Red came into the yard a few times, but he’s been so quick it’s hard to get photos. Here’s two I managed to get:

I liked how the morning light hit Red’s crest and legs.

Here’s a profile pic of my handsome guy.
I hope you enjoyed my pool bar shots of dove, quail, squirrels and sparrows. Red too!
Which photos did you like best?

As always, I vote quail.
And a pool bar bird blind is pure genius.
👍
Thanks! The pool bar really works for my photos.
So many great shots! I especially like red and the squirrel. 😊
Thanks! I was so excited to get a new shot of Red. He’s been flying away the moment he sees the camera.
What a fun way to spend the morning outdoors, cup of coffee and the birds munching nearby!
I realized that sitting outside and focusing on nature is a good way to start the day.
I agree. That’s one reason why I love to walk early if I can. The day is always better if I get out early 🙂
I need to walk each day, too. Even if it’s not far, just getting outside and moving around helps my day.
Oh I love the photos! I think the last one of Red and the squirrel….giggling. They’re sooo cute!
I’m glad you enjoyed them. I find photography really relaxes me. I get so focused.
Excellent critter photos, Elizabeth! They are so cute! I never see ground squirrels in my backyard which is a bummer.
Thanks! These little squirrels ate through a chaise lounge, so maybe you’re lucky not to have them.
Wow, so aggressive!
I watched two squirrels run back and forth with white fluff in their mouths. Then I figured out it was stuffing from the chaise lounge!
Wow, I guess you have to do something to stop that!
So far they’ve only destroyed one. It was like they were building a nest.
Time to take steps to stop the destruction of!
That happened two years ago. Maybe those two critters are no longer with us. The offspring are better behaved.
Oh good! Nothing lasts forever…
Beautiful Nature, Very cute 💯
Thanks!
OMG- all those birds! (And squirrels- can’t forget about them) I would have so much fun nature watching out there.
It really is a highlight of my days.
Love this pics…and the squirrel? Oh my…a sweet little dude…or dudette! Thank you, Elizabeth! 😊❤️😊
Thank you! 🥰
Great photos, Elizabeth! The top knot on the quail and the crest on Red are spectacular! Thanks for sharing!
I’m so glad you enjoyed them! 😊
All are wonderful sneaky you
Thanks! 😊 I used that bird blind to do my final project for my intro to photography class in the Spring. I had spent so many hours and weeks taking bird, squirrel and rabbit photos from that chair, that I left it alone until this week.
What a great place to take candid photos from! The birds are all so beautiful but it’s hard not to fall in love with Mr. Red.
When I’m taking photos, Red certainly jumps out at me!
I really liked the second quail photo. He’s standing like he’s the lord of all he surveys. And the others are like “nah”!
I like your description or caption of the photo. There’s always one quail that seems to be in charge and on the look out.
Lovely friends of nature…every one has there own role to play…all is very good.⭐
They are great friends of nature.
Yeh
Wonderful birds. Just looking at these lovely birds brings happiness.
That makes me happy!
If you have such lovely birds living around you, consider yourself very lucky. Otherwise, people yearn to hear their sweet chirping.
You’ve the perfect vantage point to take lovely pictures my friend 💖💖💖
It does work for me and the birds don’t notice me. 😊
Very cool Elizabeth.
Have fun.
I am! I’m hoping to spend some time back at the bird blind today.
Solo quail for sure.
😊
If this were social commentary, I would have to say that the Quails are always dressed to the nines, while the other birds show up in their regular clothes. HA. This is how my brain works!
All lovely photos!
The quails were my biggest thrill when we moved here five years ago right before Christmas — as far as birds. Our bobcat topped the birds. The quails are so gorgeous, especially the males. Then Red flew into my yard. I’m always thrilled to see that bright red color when I spot him in the yard. And just like the quails, the male Cardinals have so much color to show off and the females are kind of dowdy! Thanks for your compliment about my photos!
