I was happy to see that Red and Mrs. did not abandon me while we were out of town. Maybe it’s because I put a seed block out called a “Cardinal Block” to keep everyone well fed including quail, finches and sparrows.
A few photos of Red and Mrs, plus a few buddies, that I took this week:

Red looks back to make sure I knew he was here. I heard him chirping in the distance and he came when I called him!

I think he associates my “Hey Red” chirpy voice with meal time!

Red was hanging out in a tree. The little tuft of feathers below him is the crest of Mrs.

Mrs. wants to know where Red is going.

Red wants to know why I allowed the White-Winged Dove on his rock.

Mrs. is staking out her spot on the rock.

Red and Mrs. together. Probably chatting about what to do about their photographer.

I think they want a little privacy from me constantly taking their photos.
Which photos do you like best and why?

I like the one where she’s staking her spot. I guess it’s the contrast
I like that one too, plus the last one. Her expressions make me smile.
💕
😎
I lovely photo story Elizabeth. Each photo has it’s own page in this chapter of the Life and Times of The Red of Arizona
Thanks! Great title suggestion, too. I love Mrs. expressions.
They are so entertaining! I see another childrens book in your future EA, all about Red & Mrs.
Thank you! That’s a fun idea to think about.
I love the two of them together- the 2nd last one. Lovely pics all of them though. I hope you are feeling better now Elizabeth?
Thanks. No, I’m still resting. My husband tested for Covid yesterday and it’s positive. We had a zoom call with the doctor and he said I don’t have to test, just assume I have it. That explains the fatigue. I don’t have the rest of symptoms like sore throat and cough, so I’m grateful for that.
Oh no! This is the result of attending large gatherings. Over here I’ve seen many people wearing masks. Though I don’t do it myself. I guess we should go back to Covid protocols. Take care and feel better soon.
I think it was a result of being in the airport with an almost three-hour delay in a packed waiting room, or being on the flight. The wedding was 150 people, but it was outside. Of course it could be any of the above. I’m cancelling all activities of course and resting.
Yes, airport could be the cause.
The doctor old us something disturbing. He said Arizona is seeing a huge increase of cases. He said it’s due to travel. People may be asymptomatic or have small symptoms and not worry about it. Others know they have COVID and don’t care! The get on airplanes anyway.
I remember when I was coming back from Seattle, I had to show a fresh negative Covid test before boarding the plane. But that was August 2020. People have become less vigilant now.
Absolutely. I don’t understand people who fly knowing they have Covid!
Me neither- becoming complacent can be dangerous
I think it’s being too selfish to fly knowing you have Covid.
Very much so.
👍🏼
Beautiful pic 👌
Thank you 😊
Chatting about what to do about the photographer is my favorite one!
That was a fun one. Also, I like the last one with both of their head popping up behind the tree.
Such heart warming and fabulous photos.
Thanks!☺️
That is one busy rock! Love that you reconnected with Red and the Mrs after your trip. I’m sure they missed you!
It is a popular place to be because I put a handful of bird seed on it! I hope they did miss me. 😊
I like the last. The depth of focus and the dramatic difference in lighting. Not to mention Mr and Mrs, looking over the edger saying “you can’t catch us”
That’s my favorite, too. I was so excited to get that shot and have it in focus.
Nice photos.
Thank you!
Love them all! 🥰
Thank you so much! I was excited to capture them!
Beautiful! 🥰❤️🥰
Brought me some joy this week, recovering from our trip and Covid! 💕
I bet…sending oodles of love your way! 🥰
Thank you! I can use it! 💕
These are so crisp and clear Elizabeth. Wow. Red can’t abandon you. He’s hooked on all the attention.
That and the birdseed! 😉
Oh, we don’t need to mention that. Ha, ha.
At least Red comes when I call! I think I’m the dinner bell! 😉
I like the last photo the most. They want privacy🤭 I enjoyed it, Wickham.
My favorite one, too! 😊
The last two are especially sweet. Peeking over each other’s shoulders and peeking at you!
Those are my favorites, too! I saved the best for last. 😊
I love how Red came when you called him. So cool!
I think I have to say that Mrs Red claiming her place is my favorite. I love the look she has on her face. 🙂
Well done with the photos.
Thanks! It amazes me when Red will come when I call. I can hear him chirping off in the background when I call him. Mrs. has the best expressions!
So special! 🥰
💕
They’re all great, Elizabeth, and I saw your comment about Covid. So sorry you and your hubby have it. Just take good care. I had it twice and the fatigue knocked me down hard. But the second time, I took paxlovid and I felt better after a week. Feel better soon. 💕
Thanks for the comment about my photos and your concern with Covid. I took Paxlovid when I had Covid the first time. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me. It made me vomit every few hours. When I stopped taking it, I felt better. I’m afraid to take it this time, even though the doctor offered an Rx.
That’s too bad! I guess everyone’s body reacts to it differently. The only symptom I had was a metal taste in my mouth for the week which wasn’t pleasant, but it was tolerable. Hope you’re doing better…
The metal taste I remember vividly. But I didn’t react to it the same way you did. Our friends whose daughter just got married are a doctor and nurse couple. He says that all the time, that everyone’s body reacts differently.
