  1. Right now my favorite backyard characters are some rabbits. I can distinguish three of them but there could be others. Our grass is a little tall and they are dining on it.

  2. Oh no! I hope it’s wrapped now for support, but at least you have an answer now and can get things taken care of. Rest and start healing once they get things secured and stabilized after surgery EA.

      • You’re like my wife. When we go on vacation, she worries about whether or not our housesitter is feeding the birds.

      • Ha! I had my husband go to the store and buy several birdseed blocks so he just has to put them out every two to three days.

  3. Oh I’m so sorry about the fracture. Fibula is easy to break as it’s quite thin. Hope you get the surgery done asap. Lots of love and prayers for you dear friend.

  4. Talk about “walking wounded.” Good luck with the surgery. We have a bright cardinal in our yard too. I like to watch him but he doesn’t like to stay in one spot for very long. He swoons in and out. A nervous guy.

  5. Oh my goodness. Sending healing thoughts, for sure. Your post put a big smile on my face – especially the chipmunk at the end…and then I read your news about your fibula. Take care! 💕

    • Lizards are interesting creatures. Although a nickname of mine in elementary school was Lizard and I didn’t like that! 😅 Surgery is scheduled for 5:30 a.m. Friday. I’m relieved to have it done so quickly. The other foot is put off until the fall.

  6. Oh no. You and your poor ankles! I hope you get some good medical care and are on the mend in no time.
The birds are lovely; we don’t see quail here, but they are magnificent. I always thought it was terrible that the Male Species get all the bright colors, but I suppose that is divine intervention as they are trying to woo the ladies.
Keep us updated on your progress.

    • Thank you for your kind thoughts about my ordeal. Friday I have surgery, first patient in and out! I love my birds and put my husband in charge of feeding them. I gave him a schedule!

    • Thank you for your complimentary words about my photos. I can’t wait to be done with surgery, healed and start my advanced workshop with the same instructor to advance my photo journey.

  7. I’m so sorry about your tibula! I hope all goes well with surgery. Love your backyard characters — the chipmunk especially grabbed my heart!

  8. Catching up on news, just reading about your ankle. How fortunate that you had an appointment with the Dr for your other foot. Not ideal. On the bright side, your bird photos are amazing.
