Photography class is officially over. I turned in my revised final this week along with my report on an out of context photo from the photographer’s original intent. If you missed my first attempt, I posted it HERE.
One of the instructions for creating a story out of pictures was to have an element of surprise. The bully bird attacked the chipmunk, which was a surprise, but the photo didn’t translate — it was just a bunch of feathers. I think the chipmunk hanging by his toes to get a drink from the pool was a bit of a surprise.
Whew! Time to sit in the backyard and enjoy my wildlife without holding a heavy camera. Instead I’ll take a book with me and relax!
What did you think my revised edition of the final with new photos?
Do the photos look in sharper focus that the one I posted Monday?
Happy Friday! What plans do you have for this weekend?

Wow .. the squirel and bird look pretty.. nice pictures
Thank you! It was a ton of work to retake the photos, but I’m satisfied with the end result.
I think that you’ve given us an excellent story in pictures EA! That last one of the chipmunk has to be my favorite. He is just totally done for the day 🙂
Thanks! Yes, when I saw the chipmunk hide under the safety of that planter, I was thrilled. Perfect ending to long days of photos for me, too.
What did you think my revised edition of the final with new photos? I like it, seems more cohesive.
Do the photos look in sharper focus that the one I posted Monday? Yes, definitely.
Happy Friday! What plans do you have for this weekend? Out in the garden planting some perennials in what I hope will be a butterfly garden that’ll make for some prettiness.
YAY! I love all you answers. I want to see pictures of your butterfly garden.
Incredible job, Elizabeth! Congratulations on finishing a really cool class!
Thank you! It really does feel like an accomplishment now that you mention it!
The chipmunk and bird so close together. Wow. And the chipmunk hanging there precariously over the water. I would expect the next pic to be of him falling in. Ha. ha. Yes, yes, time to relax. Ha, ha. Beautiful shots.
I have seen the chipmunk get a drink of water like that several times. I’m glad I got a photo of it!
It’s a neat photo.
Thanks!
Fabulous collection of photos! This weekend? Well, today I spent a glamourous morning at the dump loading wood chips and this weekend my husband and I will spread them on our garden path. I live a very charmed life. 🙂
Another person working on their garden this weekend. I’m jealous because I don’t have one. Thank you for the nice compliment on my photos!
The squirrel and quail seem to get along, but the thrasher sent him packing (and maybe quail, too). At least he could get a drink to quench his thirst.
The photos do look sharp. I hope you get good feedback on it!
I’ll be doing my usual busywork. I have a couple raised beds to put together for my garden and some other yard work. Reading to do for critique group. Shopping for a possible new dog food for my senior dog.
Thanks for the kind words about my photos. The thrasher actually attacked the chipmunk. He’s brutal! Have fun with your gardening. I’d love to have raised beds here, but I don’t think I could keep the critters out!
An excellent photo story Elizabeth. I hope you get high grades on your assignments.
Thank you! I certainly put the hours into it! It would be rewarding to get a good grade, but I’m thankful for going through the process.
You’re welcome! Yes the learning is the reward in itself.
😊

I think they definitely look sharper. Well done! You deserve a rest with a good book. 😊
I love the picture of the squirrel dunking in the pool. A great capture!
Thanks so much!
You are very welcome! 😊
👍🏼
You nailed it, Elizabeth! Love the photos and glad you reached the finish line! Enjoy some reading and relaxation now.
I actually feel at a loss of what to do! But I’m trying to relax.
This was great! That poor chipmunk, perfect ending, love that last photo of him.
Thank you so much! That’s exactly how the photo session on my last day. Chipmunk was exhausted. The curve-billed thrasher attacked him several times! But it didn’t make a photo that I could capture.
I feel for the chipmunk! Such an engaging little creature. And the quail is so lovely with the sun on its back.
The thrasher attacked the chipmunk a couple times! The chipmunk now has a baby!
