Photography class is officially over. I turned in my revised final this week along with my report on an out of context photo from the photographer’s original intent. If you missed my first attempt, I posted it HERE.
One of the instructions for creating a story out of pictures was to have an element of surprise. The bully bird attacked the chipmunk, which was a surprise, but the photo didn’t translate — it was just a bunch of feathers. I think the chipmunk hanging by his toes to get a drink from the pool was a bit of a surprise.
Whew! Time to sit in the backyard and enjoy my wildlife without holding a heavy camera. Instead I’ll take a book with me and relax!

Thank you! It was a ton of work to retake the photos, but I’m satisfied with the end result.

The chipmunk and bird so close together. Wow. And the chipmunk hanging there precariously over the water. I would expect the next pic to be of him falling in. Ha. ha. Yes, yes, time to relax. Ha, ha. Beautiful shots.
I have seen the chipmunk get a drink of water like that several times. I’m glad I got a photo of it!

Fabulous collection of photos! This weekend? Well, today I spent a glamourous morning at the dump loading wood chips and this weekend my husband and I will spread them on our garden path. I live a very charmed life. 🙂

The squirrel and quail seem to get along, but the thrasher sent him packing (and maybe quail, too). At least he could get a drink to quench his thirst.

I’ll be doing my usual busywork. I have a couple raised beds to put together for my garden and some other yard work. Reading to do for critique group. Shopping for a possible new dog food for my senior dog.

Thank you so much! That’s exactly how the photo session on my last day. Chipmunk was exhausted. The curve-billed thrasher attacked him several times! But it didn’t make a photo that I could capture.
I feel for the chipmunk! Such an engaging little creature. And the quail is so lovely with the sun on its back.
