What I’m looking forward to

Farmer's market in Santa Barbara

Where’s you favorite place for vacation? Are you a beach or mountain person?

What is the produce like where you live?

  1. I hope you have a relaxing getaway. Texas has some good produce, especially grapefruits, peaches, and watermelon, but we also get a lot of avocados and tomatoes from Mexico.

  2. Sounds like a fun trip if a wedding is involved. Congratulations!

Our local farm stands don’t have much fruit, but there is one from the Grand Junction area that brings us Palisade peaches and some melons. I’m not a big fruit eater, so that’s fine.

  3. Vacation is any place I haven’t been before. Beach but really because my friend has a beach house… right now our farmers market is awesome. On Wednesday I got eggplant, tomatoes, blackberries, strawberries and we have a great dairy purveyor so salted butter and chocolate milk and heavy cream cause I made ice cream

  4. Sending love and hugs for good health outcomes and a joyous wedding celebration. (Enjoy your fave fruits and tacos, too! I’m with you — any vaca that has food I love is wonderful!)

  5. Happy vacation! I was far-and-away a beach person, until I moved to the mountains. Now I’m just-a-smidge a beach person over a mountain person. Both have a whole lot to love! I’m praying for your girls and your sons wedding! I can’t wait to hear the outcomes and see some wedding photos! Enjoy the fresh yummies and the cool breezes!

  6. Blessings to you and your’s, Liz! Enjoy it all, hoping and praying for the best. We will miss you, but hoping to see you next time.🙏 I love the relaxing beaches of the central coast of Cal, and both coasts of FL, and most anywhere in the Northern Mediterranean. But, I adore the variety, fresh air, and views found in the mountains! Regarding farmer’s markets, there’s a little place in the Pacific Northwest called Snohomish that is hard to beat, and our sweet corn has just come on, and will continue through October.😉🌽🎃 I harbor deep envy for those Santa Barbara fish tacos you will soon be enjoying. I’ll take a tall cold beer with mine, please. Salute!

    • Thanks for the great comment, Brock! Yes I’ll miss Snohomish this summer. We did have the best produce in our backyard growing up. Thank you for your prayers. 😊

  7. For about 6 weeks each spring, Blue Sky Farms has great strawberries. Aside from that, I have yet to find decent local fruit in Phoenix.

Have an incredible time at the wedding!! Wishing your son and his wife all the best!!

  8. You really do need a vacation. You’ve had to deal with a lot, from dog bites, to health issues! I hope it all works out for the best, and you celebrate your first-borns nuptials and you get a chance to catch your breath with some delightful fruit. Hugs, C

    • Thank you, Cheryl! We get a couple days at the beach relaxing before we fly up to SF for the nuptials. It’s been a crazy couple weeks. Afterwards, we get more beach time 😊

  9. Where’s you favorite place for vacation? Are you a beach or mountain person? I’m more of a beach person than a mountain person, but can be happy with either. Best beach, Naples, FL, USA. Best mountain, Banff National Park, Alberta, CA

What is the produce like where you live? We have great apples & roasting ears but after that it’s not spectacular.

    • I’ve been to Naples on a corporate trip years ago. It was beautiful! They took us out to a small island for seashells and it was amazing. The water was so warm and seashells where everywhere. I dove underwater to pick them up. I can’t remember the name of the place.
