Rainy Days on Mondays…

What your weather like this week? Are you a Carpenter’s fan?

  1. Well, I have read this on one of the dreichest days so far, cold, wet and miserable out there but, that allows me to sit here and catch up on reading and editing. Also, great song. Mine would be It’s Just the rain by Journey.

  2. Some fun photos for new cards maybe? All the fluffed up birds and I love that quail! Storms are coming in tonight they say and we get much lower temps this week. So glad to get out of the summer weather and the mtns should get snow on the higher peaks. I’m so ready 🙂

    • I’m so ready for these cooler temperatures, too! You must be getting the Tropical Rachel storm from the coast. That’s what has hit us. I’m glad you enjoyed my photos!

  3. I love your pool and backyard, Elizabeth! Thanks for sharing this. The poor Doves look so sad but they are okay of course. You probably saw the flooding up here on TV, the Linq area floods every year as do some streets, just the normal thing around here but no floods in my neighborhood as usual.

    • Thanks! We get flooding down in Scottsdale and Phoenix too but none up on the side of a hill. I don’t like to drive anywhere in the storms because you don’t know what roads might be flooded.

  4. I love that first picture of the dove on the beavertail. I don’t know why, but there’s something about it, in its simplicity, I suppose.

We got a lot of rain here, too, from the remnants of Hurricane Rachel. I think what we got has pretty much ended the mild drought we were in.

    • I hope your drought is over and ours too. Yes, we got hit by Hurricane Rachel, too. Wow, I can’t believe the videos I saw of Newport and Laguna beaches! I like that first photo of the dove on the beavertail too.

  5. Beautiful weather today. Lots of rain but the hurricane hit in Pensacola and Milton. Usually afterwards there is beautiful weather. Your patio looks like a wonderful place to have an evening small party and family and friends over. My dad had the Carpenter’s music and I definitely remember hearing it was I swam in the pool in the morning.

  6. Your outdoor living area is so pretty, and I love the fluffy birds! Karen Carpenter had such a beautiful voice.

    • We just had an intense downpour. It was so exciting. I went outside to listen to it. I was under an awning of course! The people who built our home and lived in it for 15 years before us really put in amazing work on the backyard and front yard too.

  7. I love the rain, too. That’s one beauty of desert living. We got a nice downpour today, but it didn’t last long. Not living up to the predictions at all.

The first concert I ever went to was The Carpenters at Hershey Arena in Pennsylvania. I still listen to some of their popular songs. Her voice was so lush. I was so impressed by seeing a woman on the drum set. Sad what happened to her.

    • How awesome is that to see the Carpenters as your first concert. I used to sing “Close to You” when my son was a baby with his bright blue eyes and hair of gold. I’m so saddened always by what happened to Karen Carpenter and don’t understand how it happened. But anorexia wasn’t well known back then or treatments.

  8. Great pics!
Rainy days can be enjoyable! We had a very rainy Sunday! Curl up and read weather!
I am a fan of the Carpenters and yes, Karen died too soon. So tragic! 🥺
