This is how I’m packaging my cards. However, my folded cards have not arrived yet. This is my first trial run that turned out with the photo on the front and blank on the back. I hope to have my first folded cards in a day or two. Then if I’m happy with them, I’ll order more including Mrs., Poppa Quail and Roadrunner.
I’ve been working on a website, ordered business cards and each day I find a little something I want to change or improve.
Then it dawned on my that I will be visiting my son this week and he has skills and talent to review and improve my projects. How great is that? I asked him for help and he said he’d love to. Also, while we are in the Bay Area, he and his wife are treating me to a day in the North Bay — to visit Sonoma and a quaint town I’ve never been to before.
Another treat is staying at my favorite hotel and taking the kids to Chez Panisse.
I’ve made the executive decision to continue working on this card project, but it’s not going live until our summer vacations are over. I won’t be here to get delivery of cards or do fulfillment if I happen to get any orders. So, I’ll keep working on getting things just right.
What are your plans for the week?

Great plan to use the people (your son) who “know things” for help and guidance EA. I hope you have a wonderful time in CA with your family!
My plans? Bone density scan tomorrow and enjoying cooler weather (which means the 80’s vs 100) throughout the week. I mostly just wait to see what comes my way 🙂
Thanks! My son should be very helpful. He works for a company that brings people’s ideas to life like the Bird Buddy bird feeder. So my cards will be helped by his experience. I’m with you on the cooler weather. I’m able to walk again because it’s in the low 80s in the morning instead of more than a hundred degrees.
The card of the cardinal looks very nice. I hope you sell a bunch of them, once you go “live.”
Thanks! I was anxious to get moving on it, but vacation comes first!
Enjoy your holiday! How wonderful that your son can help you, Elizabeth. 😊
Thanks! My son will be a huge help!
So lovely! Enjoy your time away. The cards look so nice!
Thanks! I’m excited to see my kids.
I love your instinct to hit ‘pause’ to see what ideas your son has! I think your cards are going to be beautiful, no matter, but it’s fun to see what our grown children can do to improve upon our creations. Delaney’s often doing that with images I make on Canva…she’s so fast and creative with ideas I’d never think of. Can’t wait to hear all about your son’s input on the other side of your trip. Have a blast! xoxoxo! 💝
Thanks! It makes sense to hit pause and let my son help me. I used Squarespace to build my website and he said Shopify would work better for me. I’m not sure why, but he will explain more when I’m there. The company he works for takes creators’ projects and builds campaigns for them to bring products to market. He raised $11 million for Bird Buddy before it was produced. So, I’m expecting big things for my cards 😅 That’s so good that Delaney helps you with Canva, too. It helps to have another perspective and ideas.
Ohhh! Sounds like he will be an awesome coach — he knows things, LOL! Excited for you! 😉❤️😉
I wanted to sign up for one of his company’s webinars, but decided against it. He was so relieved! He didn’t want me piping up to his coworkers, “I’m Robert’s mom!” How embarrassing would that be? 💕
Haha! Soooo tempting for you, tho!
🤪❤️🤪
😉
Good luck with your new enterprise! I started a card project when I first relocated to the Gulf of Mexico after living in the City. It was so beautiful and my dad was a good photographer. He loaned me his camera and I took some beautiful shots of the Gulf. Back then, they didn’t have all the resources for making cards you have today but I finished a few and send them off to family and friends. As I was doing some cleaning of books the other day, I came across my old journals noticing the small village of friends I made in each spot. That was kind of nice to relive the memories. It is good to keep things written down somewhere.
Enjoy your time with your son and his wife, sounds lovely!
I will! I’m really looking forward to seeing them. They’re also going to spend time with us on our Santa Barbara vacation. They met at UC Santa Barbara.
That’s great that you made cards too. My friend in Santa Barbara makes her own cards with photographs and sends them to friends and family for birthdays and other special days. I journal every day, but I don’t always keep them. Maybe I should.
Now, you have inspired me to write a blog about journals!
Cool!
Beautiful packaging, Elizabeth! I love the idea of having your son help you. I bet that he loves to help you for a change. Enjoy your trip!
My son set up a template for my community newsletter. He said he likes work like that and doesn’t get a chance to do that anymore. He also helped me with a password manager when I clicked on something I wasn’t supposed to recently. Whew! He saved me. I’m looking forward to his help on my website, too.
Very nicely done! Wonderful that your son can help you! Have a great time visiting your kids!! I know you will! ❤️
