April Reading List

A beavertail cactus in bloom with two flowers. There are more buds so more flowers to come!

  1. You have a lovely yard EA! I’d love to be able to hide back in there and just enjoy nature. Your DIL created a really challenging curriculum. I don’t remember my actual 1st year college English reading being that intense. Excited to see Red hanging on the wall. I think it’s a great idea to invite him inside 🙂

    • Thanks! I’ll have to take a photo of our front yard when everything isn’t in bloom. It’s not barren, because we have lots of trees and plants, but they don’t hide our house. It is a tough curriculum. It was too much for me! I’m excited for Red in the house. The canvas print was delivered and I’m excited about it.

  2. Ooooh I love your front yard, Elizabeth!! Beautiful. I think Red will look great in your living room, he’s very handsome. That’s a serious reading list you have, wow!

    • The front yard changed so much this spring. Normally, we have skeletons of plants and you can see the house. Now everything seems to be green or yellow and blocks the view of our home with leaves and flowers. It’s a pretty time to walk around our neighborhood. I’m excited to finally decide on artwork for the living room. I’ve been stuck in indecision. Red seems to fit there. The reading list lost me in March and now April. I will attempt it on my own schedule.

  3. I am loving your pictures. And the reading list i have several already downloaded on my phone. It’s interesting her reading list is so much better than mine was when I was in college. Thanks for sharing.

    • Thanks for reading and commenting! It’s a difficult reading list. Robert and Buff collaborated on it. I think they used a lot of material they covered in high school and college. I’m glad you enjoy my photos!

  4. Fabulous post, from the reading syllabus, to the blooming cactus, and big Red. I love that you are turning your incredible photography into wall art! Bravo, hugs, C

    • Thanks! When I took my first photography class last year, I had two photos framed. I didn’t hang them, because I was improving. I felt I should have waited to frame something better. I’m excited for this photo. Also, I know I can always exchange it for something else when I choose.

  5. Okay, I thought I might not know anything on this last syllabus but The Canterbury Tales and the Odyssey were things I read in high school. Fun!

Love the pictures of everything in bloom. Beautiful!

    • Yes, we read those two in high school as well. Of course we both went to high school in Washington. Maybe it was required? It is so beautiful outside with everything in bloom. We even got rain last night.

  6. Beautiful green in your first photo! Signs of a strong Spring! The syllabus reminds me of my High School Days! April is weather wise coming in like a lamb…not sure what will await us, but hopefully it will continue to be weather and times we adapt to easily.

  7. I recognize a lot of the literature from my senior year AP/dual-enrollment high school course, though I think I’d rather spend time in nature than re-read any of them so I don’t blame you for focusing your attention elsewhere. 😅

    • Yes. I recognize a few from high school, too. Yes, I’ve been enjoying walking, photographing birds and flowers and our getaway to Flagstaff. I realize I can pick these up and read them later.

  8. Beautiful!
I just picked up a copy of Canterbury Tales to read. What did you think of it?
I really liked Pride and Prejudice and Emma! 🙂 Do you like Jane Austen?
