Wild Kingdom

Here’s a video of the Javalina outside the fence. If you’re wondering about the birdseed on the ground, check out the next video.

What are your plans for the weekend?

    • The javelina was solo which was unusual. He wasn’t afraid of me at all. I’m sure glad for our fence! It is maddening when birds empty the feeder. I wonder what the thrasher is looking for?

  1. Love seeing all the wild critters that visit your space EA! We’re getting snow today, but back in the high 60’s by tomorrow. I’d like to hike but I think the trails may be gross so that may have to wait a few days.

  2. I think the IRS will understand, if you explain you need an extension due to all the bird-watching you have to do. Or, they might behave like that thrasher, with your bank account.

  3. Wow, it’s a good thing you’ve got the fence between you and the javelina. It’s such a lovely picture framed by the bougainvillea! I can’t believe what a mess the curve-billed thrasher is making… lol!

  4. I love the many critters that visit your home, Elizabeth! I would have a fence too. I’m glad the seed doesn’t go to waste, the quail are so happy! I have never attempted to do my own taxes, it’s not possible. 🤭😂

    • We send our taxes to a CPA, but I have to gather and organize all the material. It seems to get more complex each year. I start off fine and then get distracted and start making errors. I need to take breaks.

I love all the wildlife and I’m happy we have a fence. Although I’ve seen bobcats walk through or over the fence. At least the coyotes and javelinas cannot get through it!

  5. Very interesting. Plans are to rest. We have had some good news from the labs for Mike and we purchased some wonderful outdoor chairs. Maybe we will go to the garden show this weekend nearby to get a read on good plants for the Spring as we have some work to do in the garden.

  6. Yuck taxes! The yard is so much more interesting. My kids gave us one of those bird cameras for Christmas and the whole family is enjoying it! We love it. Hugs, C

    • There’s so many accounts to go through to prepare our taxes. I wish we had a more organized life and I was tracking expenses on a monthly basis. I’ve said that for decades! We have rental properties like you, plus my husband’s business. I swear this year I’ll keep track monthly or quarterly! I’m glad you enjoy the bird camera feeder. I was an early contributor when it was only an idea that my son was working on raising money and doing fulfillment for. He said at the time it was his most successful project.

  7. That’s what the magpies have been doing to my camera feeder. Soon it will be time to take it down until next winter. I’ll be pulling weeds tomorrow—they’re already going nuts and flowering. Ugh! Much too soon. A bike ride on Sunday.

  8. We finished taxes yesterday. Yay. Yesterday I went to see the Oscar nominated doc shorts with my friend and we had great Chai at a Yemeni coffee shop. Today a group of is are going to the Tenement museum. Tomorrow there’s a lecture at the Met.

  9. The birds can be so darn messy! Argghhhh!~
You do live in The Wild Kingdom! I’m supposed to be gathering tax documents, but I don’t wanna do it!
