Things that made me smile

Red taking off for who knows where! Below, I spotted Red near our feeder across the yard.

Here’s a Gila Woodpecker and below is a Flicker.

I’ll finish this post about what made me smile with a selfie I took with my iphone. It’s a goofy photo of my new look taken in the reflection of our sliding glass doors.

What makes you smile?

  1. I think that it’s great to be able to be outside now even if you can’t go really far. Just being in the sun and with nature has to make things brighter and make you feel better I hope, plus there’s all the entertainment from the animals 🙂

    • It’s literally what the doctor ordered. She told me to get outside for fresh air and sun. Then in a week or two to meet with friends. I love nature and my birds. So spending mornings outside while it’s cool is good for me!

    • I’m sorry you’re not feeling well. I hope the hot tea works. The baby quail is so cute! That hairdo turns into the the top knot (I’m not sure what it’s called) when they grow up!

    • I’ve been sad because Red’s missing more than showing up. Any sighting and it’s a huge relief! This morning I was outside writing my morning pages and I heard him chirp from far away. I called out, “Hey, Red!” In a high-pitched chirpy voice. He flew into the tree over my head and sang. Then I saw Mrs. this afternoon. Whew! I couldn’t stop smiling!

  2. Those baby quail! What a way to open this post…and I love the selfie of you at the end. Go, Elizabeth! Love your photos…they make me smile! 🥰

  3. I love your selfie! You’ve captured a moment in time, and you need to document this just as much as the good stuff, right?
    The baby quail are delightful!
