Now for a little bit of Red

I’m hoping for the best in my healing adventure. I’ll give an update next week after visiting the doctor this morning.

What are your plans for the weekend?

  1. Interesting observation about the steps/barriers to entry to the outside world. Now I’m looking around this house and realize the same thing. Hope today’s appointment goes well and your cast is cast aside.

    • Isn’t that something that we don’t notice what we can easily step over. Faced with the knee scooter, the doorways become a real hurdle. Thank you! I so hope the cast goes away today!

    • Thank you! I hope so too. Part of me thinks that two weeks is too early to take off the cast. But she did mention it was a possibility and I’d be walking in a boot. I enjoy my daily sightings of Red so much!

  2. I love that you call it your healing adventure, Elizabeth! Hoping you have a great appointment today.

Love the info you got on the casita, your discovery of common friends, and of course, Red. He’s a star!

    • Thanks for such a thoughtful message. I did have a great appointment today. The doctor is thrilled with how well everything is healing. I had an X-ray earlier this week that she said looks good, plus my blood work was 100%. The cast is a distant memory and I have one month in the boot, then tennis shoes! The doctor said that the new technology and hardware she used gets me up and around after two weeks, when it used to be two months of elevating the leg.

  3. Quiet weekend but good. I made German Chocolate cake for husband’s birthday! Glad you are healing! That is always interesting to discover common friends. One of my best friends when I moved to Tampa so many years ago, I worked my first year with her brother. That is so unusual as there are so many people here.

    • It’s so interesting to find friends in common. The neighbor is in his 70s and my husband best friend’s brother is too. We really got along with these new friends and then I’m down and out. I sent them a note to say we’ll get together when I’m the other side of my recovery. German Chocolate cake sounds amazing. Tell your husband happy birthday!
