Photo one:
I had a visit from a Harris Hawk Wednesday. Then a friend joined him. I practiced my photography as he moved around our backyard, looking for his favorite spot.
Photo two:
He decided to try a tree rather than the fence.

Photo three:
I caught him in flight as he flew from one end of the yard to another.

Photo four:
I handed my camera to my husband after seeing a bunch of my blurry photos. He hadn’t used the camera before, but I think he did well!

Photo five:
I took this pic and it turned out! While I’m writing the post, that’s where the Harris Hawk sits. He’s looking down on house finches who are on the ground.

Photo six: Hanging out on the neighbor’s chimney with a buddy.

Photo seven: Another flight photo. Yay!
Which is your favorite hawk photo and why?

I always love the close ups. I like to analyze the details of the bird. There’s always something different and interesting and their faces are so intent as they watch for prey.
Thanks. Yes, I like the close ups too. I like the pattern of the feathers that you can’t see far away.
I like the last one the best. One sitting and watching while other is in flight mode.
Thanks. I was excited to catch that photo!
It’s a great shot.
Thanks!
You’re most welcome 🤗

Your neighborhood is hawk central station. Must be good hunting…
👍
We are across the street from a nature’s preserve. Next to that it Tonto National Forest. There’s tons of critters to hunt.
Wow – these are great. I love photo 5!
Thanks! That’s one of my favorites too, along with the in flight ones. I’m gearing up for my photography class that starts in a month.
My favorite hawk is Mohawk, the Harness Horse Racetrack in Canada. LOL
😂
I do like the close-up of photo 5. It’s good for seeing the detail. Many hawks look so similar from a distance.
I like the close up too. You can’t see the details from far away or from an iPhone picture.
Great photos, fun to see them in flight and their wing span.
