I’m having one of those weeks where I have at least one big thing on the calendar each day. Monday through Sunday. Plus, my Frango project that I wrote about Monday HERE as well as an ever expanding list of work and writing to do.
Anywho. I decided to say no to my Thursday meetings and get stuff done. It felt so good to say NO.
I went to a Board of Director’s meeting Wednesday night for my Creative Women’s Group. We raise funds to support victims of sex trafficking. You can read about a residential facility we support HERE. They have a link to our group’s fundraiser HERE. It’s last year’s event, so I’ll ask them to update it to our March 2025 event.
I needed to get my own list of things done. Like going to the post office with boxes of Frangos to mail. I have to say the people are so nice here. Not at all like So Cal where people were impatient with me and my multiple packages to mail. To be honest, in Palm Springs, they were downright nasty and cursing. The employees were great by the way. The Carefree folks, employees and customers, are chatty and love to laugh.
The Post Office is on Easy Street. Think of that. Easy Street in Carefree, Arizona. Love it.
I joked with two women standing behind me in line that I needed my husband to retire so I could quit the Frango job. They laughed and one said, “Oh, you’ll find out there will be other things that he will do to keep you busy.”
The other one said, “I tell my husband Yoyo.”
“Yoyo?” we asked.
“Yoyo. Your on your own!”
Not to go off on a tangent, but I have a Frango dilemma. I’m missing 40 boxes of Frangos. I ordered them weeks ago. I got an email confirming my order. Next, I got an email saying they had shipped and were on their way. I clicked on the tracking link and I read a notice from UPS that said they never received the box. I called the store. They said they’d be delivered by Dec. 4 and that UPS was wrong and hadn’t updated their notification. Well guess what? I still don’t have them.
I was so proud of myself for starting this project early. I guess it’s a good thing!
When do you find yourself saying no? Are you overwhelmed when you say no, or do you say no as a preventative self care measure?

I always try to remember the saying “No is a complete sentence”! I do hope the Frango mystery box shows up soon however 🙂
I like that. I have NOT heard it before. Yes, I’m hoping the Frangos appear soon. They are coming from the east coast. Maybe the weather had something to do with it?
I never used to say no… and paid the emotional price. The older I get? The easier it becomes.
Love that bobcat.
❤️
Thanks. Yes, it is easier the older we get to put ourselves first.
That is a good question, and it deserves a good answer. I say no whenever I feel like it, and I feel like it a lot. No, really. I am at that point in my life where I ask, “Does it benefit me or Cupcake?” If the answer is no, then I say no. To anybody. At any time. For any project. You would be amazed at how this perspective frees up my calendar.
I like that perspective. I can use more of it.
Oh I hope you get your boxes soon. The holiday rush makes things late.
I love how the streets are named. 🌷🩷💕
Carefree is a cute little town. It’s less than 2,000 people and we’re adjacent to it. I got a PO Box just so I can have an address on Easy Street! Yes, I’m hoping the boxes of chocolates are coming soon.
Cool names. I think those who named them had a good sense of humor.
Yes, I agree. I will have to research who came up with the names. It might be an interesting story.
Cool 🆒
😊
I looked up the history and it’s fun! In 1958, The Town’s whimsical street names come to life during a dinner party in Phoenix. Palmer, one of the Carefree founders, mentioned to the group that they had not yet selected names for the streets, and party guests began providing ‘colorful’ names for the new Town. Easy Street, Ho Hum Road, Lazy Lane, Nonchalant Avenue and Wampum Way (among others) allow the new venture to generate publicity for the unique development. Those are all actual street names today.
I love this whimsical idea of giving the streets memorable names. 💞💞💞
I love them! I never knew the history before. Glad you asked!
Thanks for sharing
Easy street in Carefree. I love it! Glad you said “no” and focused on what you needed to. Hope those Frangos show up soon!
Isn’t that a great street and town name? I’ve looked up the history of Carefree and will write a post about it soon. I’m hoping for Frangos, soon too!
I’m sure the missing package is frustrating. I am good with saying no, but right now I’m in more of a yes mood, since I don’t have any hard deadlines to deal with.
I thought that’s where I was too. No hard deadlines, But Christmas client gifts is one. And the snafu puts stress on the rest.
The bobcat is beautiful but looks hungry. I like saying no. Husband has been a good trainer for me with other people at work and friends, if I don’t feel comfortable.
I think it’s a young bobcat and it is skinny. Good for you and your husband on saying no.
