We tried out the Tonto Bar and Grill for lunch yesterday. It was located on a golf course and this is the entrance. The shrimp tacos were pretty good. I’m on a quest to find the best fish and chips and shrimp tacos.
I see dozens of bunnies whenever I walk. I spotted tiny babies a few weeks ago, but they are quickly getting bigger. I like how the ears are translucent in the morning sun.
My Aunt gave me this beautiful painting of our cabin in Robe, Washington. It was painted by my grandmother. My parents built the cabin with their own two hands. It’s long gone. But we still own the land and have family reunions there. I had the painting framed and picked it up this week.

My husband and I spent Thursday evening at the lake again. We had a new pop-up tent that didn’t blow away.
When I went to the Farmer’s Market in Carefree, I ran across this slide in the park. If I were a kid, I’d be terrified of it. How about you?
I’m spending my afternoons reading in our casita. It’s a really good book called “Next Year in Havana” by Chanel Cleeton. Olive keeps me company by resting on the top of the sofa next to me.

My Aunt gave it to me on my recent trip to Seattle. I started crying. All those memories.
A highlight was finishing exercise at the gym; and a few good calls from friends and family. How is the water situation out there? I was listening to the news while at the gym. It seems bad.

Hmmmm….you know I had some nice moments this week, but it’s all about regaining the life I loved
I wish I could regain my old life. But I’m in the situation of creating a new one.
Well, you did move, so that’s expected. But you’re on your way to a new normal
I’m working on it. Arizona is so much more opened up than California. It took the vaccines and getting used to it. Now I’m so happy to get out and see people’s smiles!

Why is it long gone? 😔
The book is about generations of a family in Cuba — some who stayed and some who escaped to Miami.
The cabin was being vandalized and onetime they set it on fire. My brother and I decided to tear it down. The fireplace remains and extended family enjoys river. It’s a great place to camp and picnic.
The book sounds interesting. Sad about the cabin. But it’s nice you still gather there.
Unfortunately with the cabin, I live out of state and don’t visit very often. My brother’s family wasn’t using it. But during the shut down this past year his family was there every single weekend. There’s swimming, fishing and it’s a gorgeous spot! My grandfather bought the land during the Great Depression and gave his extended family parcels next to each other. They’ve been handed down for three generations. We have a family reunion every summer.
