Have you ever left an item in a taxi, Lyft or Uber? If so, what?

On the list above, what do you think is the oddest one?

Do you leave items behind? If so what is a common item you lose?

  1. A taxi or ride share would cost over $100, or it was years ago, to get to my place as they want to be paid to drive back to town again.
I have a bus service that only runs on school days and a trip into town at 7:45am and home again at 4pm plus you have to ride with children 🙄

  2. How do you forget a chainsaw or a urinal in the back of an uber? And I don’t use Uber and Lyft all that much, but you have to put in your destination right? It’s rude of the driver to be making you feel guilty. He knew where you wanted to go. Again I don’t know the app real well, but my Spidey senses are going off that he wanted you to hear him cancel his plans so that you’d feel sorry and give him a bigger tip. Maybe not, but the skeptic in me wonders. Ha, ha.

    • Aren’t those strange things to leave in an Uber? Like you wouldn’t notice them? I wondered about that about the driver. He had to know where I was going. After about 30 minutes on the way home, I learned he was a former deputy sheriff in the area where we live. He had to know how far away it is! Also, it took me awhile to get a ride, so other drivers were saying no to my ride!

      • I’m assuming they’re things that have been left in the trunk, but the few uber drivers that I’ve had have actually been really good with reminding me about my bags, etc. But hey, a urinal, mannequin, you never know. Ha, ha.

  3. Like you, we live too far in the country to use Lyft or Uber and we always rent a car when traveling so no chance of me saving anything strange behind. Though I would like a Viking drinking horn.
    🤣

    • We usually rent a car, too. I didn’t know Viking drinking horns were a thing except for in movies! The only time we use Lyft is when we visit the kids in Berkeley. The first trip after my son moved there, he told us to take BART or Lyft. We rented a car like we always do when traveling. It took two hours to get from the airport to his apartment with horrendous traffic. It’s only 22 miles away! After that, we have always used ride share.

  4. Have you ever left an item in a taxi, Lyft or Uber? If so, what? I didn’t do this, but back before cell phones when everyone carried everyone’s physical business cards with them in a small photo album-type notebook, my husband left his in a taxi. They sent it back to him.

  5. Our local news highlighted that story yesterday. They were having a great time contemplating some of the weird things found in these service cars! I’ve only been in a taxi a few times and was paranoid that I would leave something behind but thankfully never did 🙂

    • Thank you! I’m turning in my assignment today and I have several photos I’m choosing between. I need to turn in six, two each of three different composition techniques. This one was on the fence (like the dove!) but I like it.

      • Thank you! I keep reminding myself that I don’t care about grades. But, I keep making a mistake each week with my homework assignments.

      • The main problem point is that you’ve learned a lot about taking pictures on all sort of settings. Now you can experiment more and get even better

    • I’m so glad you like the photo! I’ve been going back and forth on it to turn in for my week’s assignment. I wan’t sure if it’s clear that it’s not a level shot and I shooting from below eye level. Happy Friday to you and your family!

  6. Urinal! I left stuff in a hotel room once. It was a pain getting it – for some reason the staff didn’t want to give me back the room key. Cured me of leaving stuff.

    • I know! Bizarre. That’s rude of the staff. We left (or I should say my daughter left) a phone charger in a hotel room on our way to driving her to college. We stopped to spend the night to break up a 12-hour drive. They held onto it for us to pick up on the way back. Very nice.

    • Thank you! I hope my photography teacher likes the photo, too! We use Lyft when we visit our kids in Berkeley. That’s the only time. And No, we have not left any of those items in a Lyft!

  7. I rarely take rides like that and can’t recall leaving anything behind. I’d say the fine china is definitely odd. The other stuff seems understandable after a night of partying or left from work (aviation headset). Chainsaw gets second place.

  8. Oh my on that list of items! Wouldn’t you love to know the story behind some of these items!
You have intrigued me! I may have to do a story on some of these items! 🤣 I will give your blog a shout out! 🙂
