My aching back

Have you ever injured yourself without trying? Is this what getting old feels like?

  1. Oh I’m sorry Elizabeth about your back. Back pain is notorious for starting without doing anything remarkable. I hope you feel better soon.
I’ve hurt myself numerous times without trying. It seems to be my signature move.

  2. I do this all the time! I have suspicions that things are moving around inside my body for no reason, getting pinched or pulled at the oddest times! It seems ridiculous that I can move exactly the same way on two different occasions- one time being normal and the next giving me serious pain.

Sadly EA, I think it’s called aging 😉

    • Isn’t it something? I think you are right about that aging thing….Also, I have a tendency to start and stop my stretching and crunches instead of sticking with it. That definitely moves things around.

  3. I’m so sorry, my friend. Pain is NOT the business. Have you heard of a TENS unit? My husband has back spasms, and that thing helps! I’ve seen him go from immobile to walking in a few hours. Of course I don’t know what is causing your pain, so i can’t be sure it would work the same for you. I can only make the suggestion and pray – so that is what I’m doing!

  4. I feel you. I was having back and hip pain and finally got the doctor to order an Xray and MRI. The MRI showed a couple of disc bulges and a narrowed canal. Prescribed some PT but nothing other than ibuprofen until the pain gets worse. Good luck!

  5. Oh, I’m so sorry, Elizabeth. It reminds me when I wake up with a crick in my neck that last for days. So a pain! Hope your back feels better soon! (FYI for what it’s worth my massage therapist always reminds me to alternate ice and heat to get the blood really flowing. And take Advil so it sounds like you are doing all the right things.)

  6. Oh, ouch! That sucks. Yes, I woke up in the middle of the night and somehow apparently sprained my knee in bed while asleep. How the heck does that happen??!! I’ll be getting an MRI this Friday. It’s been an aggravation for a couple months now.

I like how you caught the cardinal and quail in the same shot!

  7. That totally sucks and back injuries seems to visit us like unexpected relatives or cavities! I’m so sorry. Sounds like you need to rest and maybe get a massage? Hope you’re better soon. Hugs, C

  8. Ooh, how did I miss this! Such a neat capture. I need to thank you because we ended up ordering my father-in-law a Bird Buddy. The price is steep, but I think he’ll love it… he spends so much money feeding the birds, and so much time watching them. Fingers crossed it’s a winner!

    • He’ll love it. I hope you got the solar panel. It really saves on having to bring the camera in to charge. When I got mine, it was in development (much lower price) and my son was bringing it to the public through a kickstarter like campaign. He’s really sad because it was his biggest project, he liked working with them — and he lost the account. Their competitor is offering his company’s services for free as an add on to their other services. My son’s company may provide better results or services, but people won’t pay if they can get it for free.

      • Yes, got the solar panel too! It’s so frustrating how business works… it’s typically the cheapest that people pick, rather than the best service.

      • Yes, I’m excited! My FIL has quail blocks and feeders all over the property–we joke it’s Bob’s Birdseed Bonanza whenever he replenishes… I think the bird selfies will be such a fun attrition! I’ll certainly reach out if we have any trouble with it. Thank you!!

      • I can’t wait to see the selfies. We first used the Velcro strap to attach a holder to our fence. A quail knocked it off and it fell into the wash and the solar panel broke. I ordered a new roof and now I use the rope that came in the box to hang it from the fence and there are no issues.
