Our son found the airbnb for us. It was half the price of a tiny hotel room. I can’t wait to come back. It’s the bottom floor of a two-story house in a gorgeous neighborhood and only one mile from where our kids live.
I haven’t been a fan of the Bay Area. I don’t like the homeless, the damp, the filth that one thinks of when visiting San Francisco. Fortunately, I didn’t see any of that the entire weekend. Only when we’d drive, I’d see the homeless encampments along the freeway and under overpasses. The problems exist, but not where we stayed. I think that’s part of the problem, the people who are in charge aren’t adversely affected and can look the other way.
I do want to go back. The weather, food, the airbnb and of course hanging out with our family was amazing. My view of the Bay Area has changed for the better. I can kind of understand why my kids want to live there.
What places have you visited that you never want to go back? Where are your favorite places to visit?
That looks like an amazing Airbnb… where was it? We will often stay in a downtown hotel when we visit SF for a couple of days but I like an actual house for a longer stay.

I love every place I’ve ever gone. Yet I want to go back to almost none of them. Tahiti would be the exception. Otherwise I want to see everything.
You’re an adventurer. I tend to return over and over to the places I like. I would never have gone back to the Bay Area except for my kids living there. I’m glad I’m enjoying it more.

I, too, tend to visit places over and over. That will change once the pandemic is over. Next summer we plan to travel more. We added a puppy this summer, so that kind of put a kink into our plans.
For now, I am living vicariously through you. 🙂

Glad you enjoyed your visit here. I know what you mean about the homeless, but there are some really beautiful spots. I wrote about an adventure I went on through San Francisco for my A to Z challenge this year. Even though I have lived in the Bay Area my entire life, most of these beautiful spots were unknown to me.

Z challenge. It truly is a beautiful place. My kids are making a point to to take us to places they know we’ll love.
